Hi Everyone,
Well to say that my little birthday get together with my kids turned out quite different would be an understatement!! We had planned on grilling steaks so when everyone showed up I was a little short of steaks...LOL.
You could have knocked me over with a feather when about 70 people showed up!!! It was a wonderful day seeing everyone. Friends from high school, work, Target Motorcycle Club and family. There were some people I has not seen for 15 years so it was great to catch-up!
I want to thank all of you for coming all the way to Northern IA to join us!
I want to thank my sister-in law Katy for handling all the email correspondance! I especially want to thank my wife Elizabeth for pulling off the best surprise birthday party ever! Thanks Honey!
Take care and have a good week!
Jim

Well.... Happy Birthday Jim!! Sounds like you had a great time! Hope all is well for you!
Jim,
No need to thank me for my help in planning your surprise party -- it was fun! Keeping it a secret from you was a bit challenging -- Elizabeth and I likened you to God and Santa -- your were omnipresent!! It was really neat to have RSVP's roll in from all of your wonderful friends and coworkers -- all making plans to include your party in their weekend. What a great group of people -- funny, thoughtful, helpful -- true friends! Just wish I could have been there to see it all play out :) Glad you had a Happy Birthday! We send our love to you . . .
Katy (Mike, Anne and David too!)
Jim, I haven't visited in a while, but I did want to drop you a note and thank you for the party and the Bud Lights. I had to use two rest stops on the way home to Ramsey. It felt like a drove all the way to Duluth. I found this story about two friends that went hunting.....maybe you can appreciate the situation.
Two work and cycling buddies went hunting. Steve had been hunting all his life, but Jim was hunting for the first time. Steve told Jim to sit down and not make a sound. So he did.
But when Steve got 100 yards away, he heard a scream. "I thought I told you to be quiet!" he said.
"Well, I was quiet when the snake bit me," said Jim. "And I was when the bear attacked me... but when the two chipmunks crawled up my pant leg and said, 'Should we eat them or take them with us,' I screamed."
